The WhereCall V Material Replenishment Tag is an advanced wireless pendant and telemetry device. It plays a critical role in the wireless Material Flow Replenishment System and is designed for seamless line-side installation without any wiring or conduits. This device can submit part requests independently of any hardwired connections. Additionally, it features an eight-character LCD display to provide operator feedback by logging the duration since the last button press. It serves as the core of a wireless call system, eliminating the necessity for wired line-side pendants and can also replace traditional paper-based Kanban Systems. Extremely versatile, it can be configured to toggle between "on" and "off" states and display unique messages for each state. Using a wireless pendant simplifies the reconfiguration of production lines and the addition of new workstations, avoiding the costs associated with reinstalling wires or conduits. In standard line-side settings, each WhereCall V is linked to a specific part number and workstation. An operator can request replenishment by pressing the button on the WhereCall V, which sends its unique ID and the request for parts. These transmissions are captured by a network of WhereLAN Location Sensors (LOS) and relayed to the replenishment system. Pressing the button also starts a timer, recording the elapsed time and showing it on the LCD display, thus allowing the operator to track the time from the button press to parts delivery. The WhereCall V can also be programmed to transmit two different states, such as making a request for help and canceling the request once assistance has been provided. The WhereCall V PLC is a variant tailored for integration with automated, Programmable Logic Control (PLC) systems. It replaces the activation button with a sealed connector that connects to a remote switch, which automatically triggers the same functions. This feature enables the PLC variant to connect directly to smart shop floor equipment. The WhereCall V utilizes field-replaceable batteries with a typical lifespan of five years in most applications, significantly longer than most wireless "call pendants." Moreover, in ISO/IEC 24730-2 mode, it offers more than double the range of Wi-Fi pendants, reducing the need for numerous receivers.
